Sign up as a peer reviewer

The Jean-Paul Dionne Symposium Organizing Committee is looking for volunteers to help with abstract peer review. You do not need to have previous experience in peer review to volunteer!

Peer review is a great opportunity to share knowledge with your colleagues and enhance your academic resume.

How does it work?

As a peer reviewer, you will need to fill out a form indicating your areas of expertise and how many abstracts you wish to review. Then, on January 9, 2023, the Committee will assign 300-word abstracts to you with roughly a three-week deadline (Deadline: January 28, 2023). For each abstract you review, you will be provided a simple online evaluation grid with straightforward criteria.

Professor Led Peer Review Workshop

This will be taking place in January 2024

In January 2022, the JPDS and the Critical Research Collective teamed up to offer a workshop on peer reviewing. In case you missed it, we would encourage you to examine the recording.

Do not hesitate to contact us at sjpd-jpds@uottawa.ca if you have any questions.
